About Us

Warren was settled in 1737 as part of the Town of Kent. In 1750 a separate ecclesiastical society called the Society of East Greenwich was established and a church was founded in 1756. In 1786 Warren was incorporated as a separate town.

For most of its history Warren has been an agricultural town and it still boasts working farms. The town has a Selectman/Town Meeting/Board of Finance government. The population as of the 2020 census is 1,351 with many second home residents adding to the count. Warren is part of Regional School District 6, with K-5 grades attending Warren Elementary School and 6-12 grades attending Wamogo Regional Middle/High School.
