I Do Not Own This Car Anymore

IF PLATES WERE TRANSFERRED TO ANOTHER VEHICLE, CREDIT IS AUTOMATIC:

Pay the current bill. The credit will be applied next January to the Supplemental Motor Vehicle bill for the replacement vehicle.

IF PLATES WERE NOT TRANSFERRED TO ANOTHER VEHICLE:

Please submit the plate return receipt from the Department of Motor Vehicles along with one of the following acceptable forms of proof:

• A copy of motor vehicle registration showing the date of registration in another state
• A letter or report from the Police Dept. stating vehicle was totaled or stolen and never recovered, showing the date of the occurrence and clearly identifying the vehicle (including the vin number)
• A letter or bill of sale from a junk dealer showing the date of transaction and clearly identifying the vehicle (including the vin number)
• A letter from an insurance company showing the reason and date of cancellation and clearly identifying the vehicle (including the vin number)
• A copy of the bill of sale that shows the date of transaction and clearly identifies the vehicle (including the vin number)
• A copy of the original registration in the name of the person to whom the vehicle was transferred
• A copy of the cancelled title (front and back)
